The best construction scheduling software depends on how your crews plan: field-level lookaheads, a Gantt-based master schedule, or schedules tied to estimates and job costs. On vendor pages checked November 7, 2026, TeamGantt, Fieldwire, Smartsheet and JobTread publish prices; Procore’s pricing page and Oracle Primavera Cloud’s product page do not show starting prices.

Small contractors and remodelers should start with JobTread, Fieldwire and TeamGantt. Office teams that live in spreadsheets can look at Smartsheet. General contractors with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 files can compare Procore or Oracle.

This list compares six cloud based tools using what each vendor documents: plans, prices, schedule views and trials. It is a research-based guide built from vendor pages. For the wider category, see our Scheduling & Booking Software Guide (2026).

The Best Construction Scheduling Software, Reviewed

TeamGantt

TeamGantt is a browser-based Gantt tool with a construction tier. Base costs $59 per month ($589 billed annually) for 5 projects, 1 manager and 10 collaborators, and the vendor lists critical path scheduling at that flat fee. Business starts at $120 per month ($1,140 annually) with unlimited managers and collaborators, plus $24 per month per additional project. Builder Edition starts at $199 per month ($1,908 annually) with 10 projects.

Best fit: small contractors who want a visual schedule priced by project, not by seat. Builder Edition adds lookahead schedules, material lead times, procurement tracking, subcontractor schedule confirmation, a client portal and a Procore integration. Limitations: Base caps tasks at 150 per project. The 14-day trial requires a credit card and bills automatically unless you cancel. Projects can be exported to CSV, PDF or Microsoft Project format.

TeamGantt pricing and plans

Fieldwire

Fieldwire, a Hilti company, schedules work as tasks that you can view as Kanban, Gantt or calendar. Its scheduling page describes pull planning and three-week lookahead sessions, spreadsheet task import and related tasks that help identify potential conflicts between trades.

Plans are priced per user per month, billed annually: Basic is free (5 users, 3 projects, 100 sheets), Pro is $39, Business is $64 and Business Plus is $89. Pro and above lift the project and sheet limits. Business Plus adds RFIs, submittals, change orders and budgets.

Best fit: foremen and specialty contractors who plan at the task level. Limitations: the pages checked describe task-level scheduling and do not document baselines or a CPM engine, and seat pricing grows with crew size.

Fieldwire pricing and plans

Smartsheet

Smartsheet is a general work-management tool with grid, Gantt, calendar, table and board views. Pro costs $9 per member per month billed annually ($12 monthly) for 1 to 10 members with unlimited free contributors. Business costs $19 per member per month billed annually ($24 per member per month billed monthly) for 3 or more members and adds timeline view, workload tracking and baselines. Enterprise and Advanced Work Management are quote-based.

Best fit: office teams that already plan in spreadsheets. Limitations: the pricing page lists no construction-specific tools such as lookaheads or subcontractor confirmation, and Pro allows 250 automations per month. The trial is 30 days with no credit card.

Smartsheet pricing and plans

JobTread

JobTread prices at $199 per month including the first internal user, plus $20 per month each for users 2-10, with lower tiered rates above 10 users and no contract or setup fees. Annual billing saves 20%. A five-user company pays $279 per month on the monthly plan, as arithmetic from the published rates. Customer, vendor and subcontractor portal users are free.

Its scheduling page lists calendar, Gantt and list views, task templates and calendar sync with iCal, Google Calendar and Outlook. Best fit: builders and remodelers who want scheduling next to estimates, budgets and invoices. Limitations: no free trial is listed, only a 30-day money-back guarantee on monthly plans, and the page does not mention critical path or lookahead tools.

JobTread pricing

Procore

Procore sells an annual fee by product, based on annual construction volume, with unlimited users; its pricing page excludes Field Productivity from this model and prices it by full-time equivalent. No prices appear on its pricing page. The Scheduling tool imports and syncs plans from Microsoft Project and Primavera P6, shows Gantt and list views, and supports digital lookaheads for trade partners.

Best fit: general contractors who need schedules tied to RFIs, submittals and inspections. Limitations: quote-based pricing and a demo-led start. TeamGantt’s Builder Edition lists a Procore integration if you only need a lighter planner.

Procore scheduling

Oracle Primavera Cloud

Oracle describes Primavera Cloud as built on the same CPM engine as Primavera P6, with field planning aligned to the Last Planner System and mobile access to task cards. It also covers resource, risk and portfolio management. No price or trial appears on the page checked.

Best fit: large contractors and owners running contract schedules. Limitations: no starting price or free trial is listed on the product page.

Oracle Primavera Cloud

What to Look For

  • Schedule logic: check for task dependencies and critical path support, not only a calendar. TeamGantt and Primavera Cloud document critical path; Smartsheet lists dependencies in every plan.
  • Lookaheads and subs: short-term planning and subcontractor confirmation matter on multi-trade jobs. Fieldwire and Procore document lookaheads; TeamGantt Builder lists lookaheads and subcontractor schedule confirmation.
  • Seats versus projects: TeamGantt charges by project, Fieldwire and Smartsheet by user, and JobTread by base fee plus internal users.
  • Imports: if your general contractor sends Microsoft Project or P6 files, confirm import before you pay.

FAQ

What is the best construction scheduling software?

There is no single winner. On documented features and price, JobTread suits builders who want scheduling with estimates, Fieldwire suits field crews, and TeamGantt suits small teams wanting a Gantt chart with critical path. Procore and Oracle Primavera Cloud suit larger contractors that can work through a sales process.

Is there free construction scheduling software?

Two vendors list free plans for new users. Fieldwire’s Basic plan covers 5 users, 3 projects and 100 sheets. TeamGantt’s Personal plan covers 1 user, 1 project and 40 tasks. Smartsheet offers new users a 30-day trial instead, and JobTread lists a 30-day money-back guarantee on monthly plans rather than a free plan.

What is the best simple construction scheduling software?

For simplicity, compare TeamGantt and Fieldwire. TeamGantt runs in a browser with a flat project-based price, and Fieldwire offers Kanban, Gantt and calendar views with mobile apps. Both let you start small, though their scheduling depth differs from CPM tools like Primavera Cloud.

Is online construction scheduling software worth paying for?

It can be when several trades share one schedule. Vendors document benefits such as shared lookaheads, subcontractor confirmation and imports from Microsoft Project. Compare costs first: a five-user JobTread company pays $279 per month on the monthly plan, while Fieldwire Pro costs $39 per user per month billed annually.
